Nebraska 8, Colorado 3

Colorado got an early 1-0 lead when Brandon Fraser singled allowing Aaron Head to score in the top of the first inning, but the advantage would be short-lived. Nebraska answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning as pitcher Rob Morrissey singled to score Will Clemons who had also singled to get on base. Morrissey then scored on a wild pitch.

Morrissey settled in and didn't allow another run until the seventh inning as he tallied 13 strike outs in the game.

Nebraska's Nick Leaders provided the hit of the day as the lefty led off the third inning by launching a solo home run on top of the Raymond Family Community Center, which hit the roof and bounced over.

Scott Bagley and Cory Nelson followed with singles and Andrew Ebert brought them home with a two-run double. Two more Nebraska runs in the fourth and one in the sixth gave Millard West an 8-1 edge going into the seventh.

Colorado tried to climb back in the game with two runs scored on a wild pitch and an error, but Nebraska regrouped to close out the win.

Leaders scored two runs as he went 1-for-3 in the game, while Morrissey helped his cause with a 2-for-4, two RBI performance, and Bagley finished 2-for-4 with one run scored and an RBI. Ebert went 2-for-3 and added two RBIs, while Brian Doney was 1-for-2.

For Colorado, Head finished 2-for-3, while Fraser, J.T. Hernandez and Trey Ford were all 1-for-3.
